Participant Application

PLEASE READ THE BELOW CRITERIA BEFORE APPLYING:

  • This application must be related to a NEW BUSINESS IDEA you want to get off the ground. NO LLC papers have been filed, no logo, website, etc.

    • If you are an already established, but newer business looking for paid business support, please reach out to our partners at The Small Business Collective

  • Applicants MUST BE Windsor, CT Residents and use their home address for LLC formation, documentation, and taxation, OR you can be a resident of another CT town but agree that the address of your business formation will be at Windsor Worx.

  • For this first cohort, applicants must be a Single-Member, SERVICE-BASE BUSINESS. No physical products or e-commerce. One business owner, no business partners or couples. Examples of service-based businesses include business consultants and coaches, massage therapists, mental health professionals, home organizers, etc.

  • This is a 2-Part Application Process. The first is the completion of the form and questionnaire below. If you are chosen to move to the second part, you’ll conduct a 1:1 interview with a member of our team, before we narrow down the applicant pool to the first cohort of 5 new businesses.

  • If selected, the educational and mentorship portion of this program is FREE to participants. A team of paid and vetted local experts will guide you through a 3-month program that will bring your idea to life and include but may not be limited to the following sessions:

    • LLC Formation - done for you

    • Business Plan + Messaging - strategized and built with you

    • Branding - you’ll go home with a logo

    • Website - you’ll go home with a website (yes, really)

    • Financial Planning, Accounting, and Bookkeeping - a mix of education and Quickbooks set up

    • Sales + Marketing Strategies (B2B + B2C) - leave with an actionable plan

    • Content Creation - we’ll write and design content together!

  • As part of the above sessions, participants will be expected to pay for the cost of the following essential elements and software programs for an estimated total of $600 per year. As part of the program, participants will be setup with the proper accounts and guided to enter their own personal payment information. Please do not proceed with your application if you are unable to pay the estimated $600 per year for these essential programs that will run your business for years to come.

    • Canva

  • Program Perks + Support:

    • Alongside access to our incredible collection of local experts, participants will be given UNLIMITED, 24/7 Hot Desk Access at Windsor Worx for a 6-month period. This will provide our entrepreneurs with the physical space and collaborative, social interaction to build their business from a Side Hustle to their Main Hustle.

    • You’ll also be part of our Slack Workspace for a 12-month period, to facilitate further collaboration, virtual coworking, idea sharing among fellow participants in this and future cohorts.

    • This program will culminate in a Presentation Event where participants will compete to win a grant to further support their business - provided by generous local donors and sponsors. Amount TBD.
